How it works

How to get your medical marijuana card online

  • About 20 minutes of your time
  • Rules and price before you start
  • Pay only if approved

The three steps

  1. Answer a few questions

    • About 2 minutes
    • Free
    You
Pick your state, tell us your symptoms and what you've already tried.
    We
Review your answers and contact you to schedule your video visit.
  2. Meet your doctor by video

    • About 15 minutes
    • Nothing yet
    You
Join from your phone or laptop. Have a photo ID ready.
    We
The doctor reviews your history and decides whether cannabis is right for you.
  3. Get certified and registered

    • Right after an approved visit
    • Charged only if approved
    You
Pay the evaluation fee, then submit your state registry form.
    We
The doctor files your certification. We walk you through the state form line by line.

What to have ready

  • A government photo ID

    Driver's license or state ID.

  • Proof of address

Your license usually works. Otherwise a recent utility bill or lease.

  • A phone or computer with a camera

No app to install — the visit runs in your browser.

  • A list of your medications

So the doctor can check for interactions.

After you're approved

  1. Doctor files your certification

    Usually right after your visit.
  2. You apply to the state registry

We send step-by-step instructions for your state and stay on call while you fill it in.
  3. The state issues your card

Same day in some states, a few weeks in others. Your state page shows the timeline.
  4. We remind you to renew

60 days before your card expires. Never an automatic charge.

About the visit

See the full FAQ

What do I need for the video visit?

A phone or computer with a camera, a stable internet connection, a quiet private spot, and a government photo ID. Most states also need proof that you live there — usually your driver's license is enough.

What will the doctor ask?

About your symptoms, how long you've had them, what treatments you've tried, the medications you take now, and your medical history. Be honest — it's confidential and it helps the doctor recommend the right products and doses.

How long is the visit?

About 10 to 15 minutes for a new card, and often less for a renewal.

When are visits available?

During our opening hours (Mon–Sun, 8am–10pm ET). After your free check, our care team contacts you to find a time that works.

Do I need medical records?

Usually not. Records help if your condition isn't obvious from a conversation, and a few states ask for them. Your doctor will tell you if you need anything.
