Dispensary questions
Where does this dispensary list come from?
Every listing comes from the state's own licensee list, published by the agency that licenses cannabis retailers. We don't accept paid placement, and we don't rank stores.
Do I need a medical card to shop at a dispensary?
In medical-only states, yes: dispensaries sell only to registered patients and caregivers. In states with adult-use sales, adults 21 and over can shop without one, but a medical card often lowers taxes and raises purchase limits.
Can I use my medical card in another state?
Some states accept visiting patients and many don't. Check the state's page before you travel, and never carry cannabis across state lines — that's a federal crime even between legal states.
How often is the list updated?
We reload each state's list as the agency publishes it. Each state page shows the date of the list it uses. Call ahead before you drive.
